GM's decision to remove Apple CarPlay and Android Auto from Chevrolet vehicles backfired significantly, as demonstrated by an accidental A/B test comparing the Chevy Blazer EV with the nearly identical Honda Prologue EV, which retained CarPlay and Android Auto integration. Honda's Prologue consistently outsold the Blazer EV by substantial margins—42.8% more sales in 2024, 73.1% more in 2025, and 165.5% more in the first half of 2026—suggesting that the absence of smartphone integration was a major factor driving consumers away from Chevy's offering.
