The Advisory Group on Mathematics and Artificial Intelligence

A newly formed Advisory Group on Mathematics and Artificial Intelligence, hosted at Princeton's Institute for Advanced Study and comprising leading mathematicians including Terence Tao and Edward Witten, has been created to advise AI companies on their interactions with mathematical research and the responsible release of mathematical results. Operating independently without accepting payment, the group is currently addressing OpenAI's coordination of releasing numerous significant mathematical results reportedly produced by their AI model, and is soliciting input from the broader mathematical community on this matter.
