Sysadmining Like It's 2009

Legacy Labs is a new two-month summer camp initiative that evolved from the author's participation in the annual Old Computer Challenge (OCC), which encouraged participants to work with outdated hardware and operating systems for a week each summer. Rather than forcing constraints like slow internet speeds or limited RAM, Legacy Labs allows participants to choose any retro-computing or "permacomputing" topic to explore deeply over two months, with the goal of understanding how systems work and their historical context. The author plans to spend the camp studying Windows Server 2008 Core using modern tools like Incus, emphasizing creative exploration over strict historical accuracy.
