Simplifying and Refactoring Introductory Calculus
Jonathan Bartlett proposes simplifying first-year calculus instruction by streamlining redundant processes and concepts that students currently must memorize separately. By consolidating multiple calculus procedures that perform essentially the same task, fewer core concepts could provide greater flexibility and capability for introductory students. The paper was published in Communications of the Blyth Institute in 2019.
