Shutting down our public encrypted DNS

Mullvad is shutting down its public encrypted DNS servers by November 2, 2026, and will instead financially support Quad9, the leading privacy-focused DNS service, to avoid duplicating efforts. Mullvad Browser users with default DNS settings will automatically migrate to Quad9, while users with manual configurations must switch themselves before the deadline.
