A developer created an interactive globe visualization that shows today's cities and countries positioned on Earth's tectonic plates throughout geological history, both backward into the past and forward into the future. The tool uses the Merdith 2021 plate model to reconstruct how continents have moved and where they're projected to go, though future predictions are simplified extrapolations rather than scientific forecasts. Red areas on the globe indicate overlapping plate fragments from the reconstruction process.
