Show HN: Dual YOLOv8n UAV Detection on RK3588S at 42 FPS Using NPU
A developer has created a real-time UAV detection system for the RK3588S processor that runs YOLOv8n object detection at 46 FPS (the camera's maximum) while using only ~140 MB of RAM by leveraging the chip's hardware accelerators (ISP, RGA, and NPU). The system can simultaneously process dual camera streams and includes an on-device language model that generates natural-language summaries of detected events, all while keeping the CPU free and running efficiently on budget boards costing as little as €90.
