Show HN: Docx-CLI: agents read/edit Word docs using 1/2 the time and tokens

Docx-CLI is a command-line tool that enables AI agents to efficiently edit Word documents by working with plain-text commands and annotated Markdown views instead of complex XML, reducing token usage by 2-2.5× and processing time by 1.7-2.1× compared to the default approach. Controlled testing across six real-world document tasks showed docx-cli solved 5-6 tasks correctly with all documents remaining properly formatted, while the default method solved only 0.7-4 tasks and frequently produced broken files that Word couldn't open.
