Seoul Biosys Begins Production of Rare Earth-Free White Micro LEDs

Seoul Biosys has begun mass production of white micro LEDs that eliminate the need for rare earth elements, using its proprietary WICOP technology that requires no separate packaging or rare earth-based phosphors. The company's first product measures 25µm x 10µm with light efficiency of approximately 100 lumens per watt, with plans to double that within two years while reducing production costs by half. The technology is expected to support growing markets in micro LED displays for smart glasses and AR applications, with the overall market projected to reach $6.8 billion by 2032.
