Rust (and Slint) on a Jailbroken Kindle

A developer successfully got Rust and the Slint GUI framework running on a jailbroken Kindle Paperwhite by cross-compiling for ARMv7 architecture and implementing custom drivers for the e-ink display and touch panel. Using cargo-zigbuild for cross-compilation and the Linux framebuffer interface, they were able to create a graphical application that displays output on the Kindle's screen and accept touch input. This opens the possibility of using the Kindle as a smart home dashboard or other interactive application beyond Amazon's default functionality.
