Rubin Observatory's first LSST Camera release: 500k galaxies in the COSMOS field

The NSF–DOE Vera C. Rubin Observatory released its first LSST Camera image, capturing over 500,000 galaxies in the renowned COSMOS field in the constellation Sextans. The image, created by stacking hundreds of observations with the world's largest digital camera, provides an unprecedented deep view of distant galaxies at various stages of cosmic history. This release marks a significant milestone for the Observatory and adds powerful new data to one of the most extensively studied regions of the sky.
