Redeploying Fable 5

On June 12, the US government imposed export controls on Anthropic's Claude Fable 5 and Mythos 5 models after discovering a method to bypass Fable 5's safeguards that could identify software vulnerabilities. The controls were lifted on June 30, and Fable 5 is now being redeployed globally starting July 1, while testing revealed that the vulnerability identification capability was not unique to Fable 5 and existed across multiple AI models. Anthropic is collaborating with the government and industry partners to develop a shared framework for assessing and addressing AI model jailbreaks.
