Record-High 89% in U.S. Say Government Corruption Widespread

A record 89% of U.S. adults now perceive government corruption as widespread, up 10 percentage points from last year and the highest level in 20 years. Democrats' perceptions have increased most sharply, rising from 57% in Biden's final year to 91% under Trump, while Republicans have remained relatively consistent at around 83-87%. The U.S. now ranks highest among 38 OECD nations for perceived corruption, with a 20-point gap above the median of 59% across other advanced economies.
