Reading’s Bayeux Tapestry

The Bayeux Tapestry is currently on display at the British Museum with all 2026 tickets sold out, but visitors can view a free full-size replica at Reading Museum, which has been there since 1895. The Reading copy was hand-embroidered by members of the Leek Embroidery Society in 1885-1886 and remains in excellent condition, stretched across the museum's first-floor mezzanine without the wear and damage the original has suffered over centuries.
