Most monitors worldwide can display identical colors because of standardized color definitions, which are necessary since natural language provides only about twelve color words and cannot precisely distinguish between similar shades. Rather than using an ever-growing list of color labels, colors can be quantified and mapped to numbers based on their physical properties—specifically the wavelength and frequency of light photons—enabling precise color reproduction across devices.
