Project Blinkenlights

Project Blinkenlights transforms building facades into giant interactive light displays, a concept that began in 2001 as a Chaos Computer Club project and has since expanded to installations across three continents. The project has evolved from a monochrome 18×8 pixel display in Berlin to increasingly sophisticated versions, including a 96×32 pixel installation in Toronto and recent color capabilities since 2023. Visitors can view original animations on building facades or use the Movie Converter tool to transform their own videos into compatible formats for display.
