Postgres with QUIC

Running Postgres over QUIC (UDP) instead of traditional TCP enables stream multiplexing that significantly outperforms conventional connection pooling, with benchmarks showing 9,718 queries per second at 246ms latency compared to TCP's degraded performance of 7,088ms latency under identical heavy loads. The key advantage is that QUIC's multiplexing capability overcomes the client-side TCP connection bottleneck created by Postgres's synchronous protocol design, which blocks each connection until queries complete. However, QUIC is not a universal solution and has specific architectural constraints that determine when it should and shouldn't be deployed.
