Earendil Engineering has released Pi 1.0 and introduced Pi Durable, an experimental framework designed for long-running, durable agents that can operate anywhere and survive failures while supporting multiple users and infinite conversations. Unlike Pi 1.0, which focuses on single-user terminal-based coding agents, Pi Durable serves as a general-purpose harness for building any agentic application with principles of minimalism and malleability. The framework, comprising about 15,000 lines of code, manages storage, parallel conversations with large language models, tool execution, and task management across various execution environments.
