Pele – Mermaid diagrams as themeable SVG

Pele is a lightweight library that converts Mermaid diagram syntax into SVG with CSS variable theming, offering significantly smaller bundle size (230 kB gzip vs. 1.6 MB) and faster rendering (0.05–0.3 ms vs. 6–82 ms) than Mermaid.js. The library allows users to customize diagram appearance through CSS variables without re-rendering, and includes features like responsive layouts for small screens.
