NYC may require landlords and realtors to disclose the use of AI in listings

NYC Mayor Zohran Mamdani released a "Rental Ripoff Report" recommending that landlords and realtors disclose when they use AI to generate or edit images in property listings, addressing the growing problem of misleading AI-altered photos that misrepresent rental properties. The report also includes recommendations to recognize tenant unions, expand tenant bargaining rights, and modernize code enforcement systems, stemming from hearings where thousands of New Yorkers reported issues like untreated mold, unaddressed pests, and unexplained fees.
