Multiple AI services including OpenAI's ChatGPT, Anthropic's Claude, and xAI's Grok experienced rare outages on Thursday morning, with downtime lasting between one to four hours. While the simultaneous outages initially suggested a shared third-party infrastructure problem, neither OpenAI nor Anthropic disclosed an external cause, though xAI attributed its issues to an outage at SpaceX's Memphis compute center.
