No Spanish Reading Crisis?
A new study by Spain's publishers' federation shows that 66% of Spaniards read for pleasure, with 75% of 14-24 year-olds reading regularly—rates that have increased every year since 2017 and contradict the myth that young people don't read. Unlike English-speaking countries experiencing declining readership, Spain has managed to maintain and modestly grow its reading rates despite similar pressures from social media, video content, and AI.
