New Lower and Upper Bounds for the Grothendieck Constant
Researchers have established new lower and upper bounds for the Grothendieck constant, narrowing its value to between 6π/11 and π/(2log(1+√2)) - 10^-4, which determines its previously unknown tenths digit to be 7. The work employs novel methodologies, including limitations on Krivine schemes for the lower bound and the first asymptotic construction of rounding schemes for the upper bound. The research was conducted through collaboration between human mathematicians and an AI research system.
