More than half of adults in U.S. say they lack basic statistical understanding

A Penn State-led study found that 62% of U.S. adults report little to no understanding of basic statistical concepts, while only 11% regularly use statistics in daily life. Despite this knowledge gap, 90% of survey respondents said they would use statistics more frequently in decision-making if they understood them better, highlighting both a need and willingness for improved statistical literacy.
