Microsoft's new Outlook for Windows has a significant performance problem with email notifications: clicking a notification takes approximately 10 seconds to display the specific email, while Outlook Classic opens it almost instantly. The performance lag stems from new Outlook's WebView2-based architecture, which essentially runs as a web browser wrapper rather than native code, making it fundamentally slower than the classic desktop app despite Microsoft's push to transition users to the newer version.
