Microsoft Edge is discontinuing support for Manifest V2 extensions, which will disable older ad blockers like uBlock Origin, mirroring Google Chrome's earlier transition to Manifest V3. Starting this month, the remaining 58 MV2 extensions with meaningful usage will be gradually disabled by default, with Microsoft completing the consumer transition by the end of 2026 and enterprise transition in early 2027. Users can switch to alternatives like uBlock Origin Lite, or use other browsers such as Firefox or Opera that continue supporting MV2 extensions.
