Microsoft Comic Chat is now open source

Microsoft has open-sourced Comic Chat, the 1996 chat client that automatically converted IRC conversations into comic panels with illustrated characters and speech bubbles, and introduced Comic Sans to the world. Originally developed by David Kurlander at Microsoft Research, Comic Chat was an ambitious early experiment in visual communication that interpreted conversational cues to generate appropriate character poses, expressions, and panel layouts in real time.
