Mexico Just Showed Off a New Cheap, Government-Backed EV

Mexico's government unveiled the Olinia Uno, an ultra-affordable electric vehicle priced at approximately $8,500, which can travel 77 miles per charge and is designed for urban use with a top speed of 31 mph. The car, set to launch next summer with 50% domestic materials, is part of President Claudia Sheinbaum's Plan México initiative to boost the country's economy and manufacturing sector.
