A 16-year-old Mexican student named Ángela Karime Venegas Hernández has invented an acoustic fire extinguisher called "Vortex Tech" that uses sound waves to extinguish fires in seconds by pushing oxygen away from flames. The device, made from a battery, frequency generator, and speaker emitting 30 pulses per second, has been tested over 100 times on various fire types and leaves no residue or pollutants. Her innovation will represent Mexico at an international fair.
