# Summary
In summer 1994, Naughty Dog co-founders Andy Gavin and Jason Rubin decided to develop a 3D character platform action game after observing that other major arcade genres were successfully transitioning to full 3D graphics. The duo, who had previously published six games as a two-person company, made this decision during their move to Los Angeles following a deal with Universal Studios, which would eventually lead to the creation of Crash Bandicoot.
