Luanti's Android app was removed from Google Play Store following a DMCA copyright notice filed by Tracer.AI on behalf of Microsoft, claiming infringement of Minecraft's copyright—a claim the Luanti developers say is baseless, as the open-source voxel game platform contains no proprietary code or assets from Minecraft. This is the second similar notice from the same company; Luanti successfully appealed a previous 2023 notice and notes that Tracer.AI has filed comparable notices against other indie games with similar voxel aesthetics. Luanti is a non-profit, community-developed platform that allows users to create and play custom games without shipping any default game assets.
