Kirlian Photography: Building Your Own Equipment
|
Kirlian photography is a high-voltage contact print technique named after Semyon and Valentina Kirlian, who developed it in 1939, though electro-photography dates back to the late 1700s. The process involves placing an object on film above a metal plate and applying high voltage to create a corona discharge image, requiring no camera or lens. Despite popular paranormal claims about Kirlian photographs detecting illness or bio-plasma fields, scientific observation has not supported these theories, as observable effects can be explained by conventional means such as changes in galvanic skin resistance.
