Kimi K3 Architecture Overview and Notes

Kimi K3 is a newly released 2.8T open-weight model that scales up the previous Kimi Linear architecture with efficiency improvements including LatentMoE (for compressing linear layers), multi-head latent attention, and attention residuals that connect residuals across layers using attention scores. The model notably eliminates RoPE positional embeddings entirely in favor of NoPE and adds native multimodal support, continuing an industry trend toward better inference efficiency.
