Microsoft has announced Intelligent Terminal 0.1, an open-source experimental fork of Windows Terminal featuring native AI agent integration, primarily with GitHub Copilot CLI as the default experience. The tool includes a context-aware agent pane that serves as a "pair-programmer" for shell commands, automatic error detection and fixing, and agent management across multiple sessions. Users can install it via Microsoft Store or WinGet, and it supports any Agent Client Protocol (ACP)-compatible agent.
