IBM has unveiled a dual-architecture processor that will enable IBM Z and LinuxONE mainframes to run both Arm-native and IBM applications simultaneously, combining Arm's 22 million-strong developer ecosystem with IBM's enterprise-grade security and reliability features. Built on 2-nanometer technology with 11 high-performance cores and AI inference accelerators, the processor represents the first major milestone from IBM and Arm's collaboration announced in April 2026.
