I Made a Million Dollar Product from My Dorm Room (2025)
A college student designed the nice!nano, a wireless microcontroller board compatible with DIY keyboards, after being frustrated with poor performance of existing wireless keyboard solutions. The board, created over a single weekend in KiCad, achieved over 100x better power efficiency than previous attempts and generated significant community interest, leading to a group buy launch in mid-June. The nice!nano has since powered tens of thousands of keyboards and become a million-dollar product.
