Humans Haven't Stopped Evolving

Harvard scientists analyzing the largest collection of ancient human DNA discovered that human evolution has accelerated over the past 10,000 years, with hundreds of genes showing signs of rapid natural selection—contrary to the previous scientific consensus that human evolution had largely stalled. Using new statistical methods to filter out genetic noise from migration and population mixing, researchers found that the pace of natural selection intensified even more in the past 5,000 years, demonstrating that humans continue to evolve rather than having reached an evolutionary plateau.
