Pew Research Center is selectively integrating AI into its operations while maintaining strict safeguards to preserve accuracy and human oversight. The organization uses AI for coding, data analysis, copy editing, and social media content creation, but explicitly avoids using AI to generate synthetic survey data, write research reports, select topics, or create images—ensuring real people remain at the center of its work. All AI applications are supervised by human researchers who retain ultimate responsibility for quality and accuracy.
