Halfspace is an experimental IDE for solid modeling that uses distance fields to allow users to create 3D models through a combination of a standard library of shapes and transformations alongside low-level implicit surface programming. The tool, built on the Fidget kernel, enables real-time rasterization and meshing within its GUI, with models exportable as images or triangle meshes. The project aims to bridge the gap between the low-level complexity of implicit surface programming and high-level usability by allowing incremental model building with individual visualization and parameterization of components.
