Recent research from European scientists found that people taking GLP-1 medications like semaglutide and tirzepatide are significantly more likely to experience hair loss and nail problems, particularly nail detachment, compared to non-users. While the FDA has already added hair loss to the warning labels for these drugs, nail complications have not been formally studied until now. Researchers emphasize that patients should not stop their treatment but should report these symptoms to their doctors.
