Google's Open Agentic Orchestrator

Google has introduced AX, an open-source orchestrator for running agentic AI tasks at scale, capable of managing billions of concurrent agent sessions per cluster. AX provides sandboxed execution environments with built-in workspace setup, network policies, and model configuration, while enabling tasks to be cheaply created, suspended, and resumed in under a second. The platform addresses the unique challenges of AI agents by treating them as a distinct workload type that requires strict isolation, state accumulation, and cost controls to prevent unmonitored spending.
