Google: Lake Ontario/Lake America name change in the U.S. will appear in Maps

The U.S. Geographic Names Information System (GNIS) has officially renamed "Lake Ontario" to "Lake America" within U.S. borders, and Google Maps will reflect this change for American users while Canadian users will continue to see "Lake Ontario." Google Maps will display both names for users outside the U.S. and Canada, following its policy for bodies of water with varying international names.
