The Savannah Police Department terminated four sworn officers and two civilian employees after investigating misuse of the department's Flock Safety License Plate Reader system. The investigation found employees conducted unauthorized searches on personal acquaintances and family members, and one officer gave an outside law enforcement agency unauthorized access to the system. All six cases are under independent criminal investigation by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation, and the department has implemented new weekly audits to prevent future misuse.
