GentleOS – Classic operating system with a lovely retro GUI

GentleOS/32 is a hobby operating system designed for vintage 32-bit PCs that allows users to tinker with old hardware at the bare metal level, with a companion version (GentleOS/16) for even older 16-bit systems. The project can be built using Docker and Docker Compose, and supports customization features like adding retro wallpapers using indexed color images with standard EGA/VGA palettes. The software is licensed under GPLv2 and incorporates assets from various open-source font and icon projects.
