The GCC steering committee has adopted an AI contributions policy that prohibits legally significant contributions containing or derived from large language model (LLM) generated content, using a threshold of approximately 15 lines of code or text. The policy makes an exception for LLM-generated test cases and permits the use of LLMs for research, analysis, and code review as long as the output isn't directly contributed to the project.
