Fragment of oldest known peace treaty found in Turkey

Archaeologists in Turkey have discovered a fragment of cuneiform inscribed with text from the Treaty of Kadesh, one of the oldest known peace treaties, which was signed between Egyptian Pharaoh Ramesses II and Hittite King Hattusili III around 1269 B.C. This artifact provides physical evidence of the historic agreement that ended conflict between two major ancient powers.
