Following legal advice, the Nitter project will continue

Following cease-and-desist letters from X Corp. in August 2026 demanding the shutdown of Nitter instances and its repository, the Nitter project announced it will continue operating after receiving legal advice. Nitter is a free, open-source Twitter alternative focused on privacy and performance that doesn't require JavaScript and prevents tracking through X Corp.'s unofficial API.
