Five US tech giants' hidden debts soar to $1.65T on opaque AI funding

Hidden debt at five major U.S. tech giants has surged to an estimated $1.65 trillion over four years, driven primarily by opaque AI funding through data center leases and GPU supply contracts. This off-balance-sheet debt, which has grown eightfold, now exceeds their transparent debt and makes it difficult for investors to accurately assess financial risk. Meta alone carries approximately $420 billion in hidden liabilities, nearly triple its reported debt.
