Firefox 157 will include JPEG XL by default on all platforms

Firefox 157 will enable JPEG XL image format decoding by default across all platforms, replacing the current Nightly-only default setting. The move comes after performance improvements were made to the jxl-rs Rust decoder, including multithreaded decoding support that now matches or exceeds Safari's performance. The format has been available as an opt-in Firefox Labs feature since version 152 and has undergone extensive testing including correctness validation and fuzzing.
