Fabricked: Misconfiguring Infinity Fabric to Break AMD SEV-SNP

Researchers have discovered a novel attack called "Fabricked" that compromises AMD SEV-SNP, a hardware security feature designed to protect confidential computing in cloud environments. By manipulating the Infinity Fabric (AMD's memory routing system) through malicious firmware, an attacker can intercept and drop critical memory writes during SEV-SNP initialization, leaving the system's access control mechanism (RMP) in an insecure state. This allows a malicious hypervisor to gain arbitrary read and write access to confidential virtual machine memory, completely breaking SEV-SNP's security guarantees.
